How to turn writing novels into a career?
Hi! My name is Lovely. I am a passionate romance writer, a published author in the Philippines. I started writing novels when I was still in grade school. I can still remember how writing stories for the first time made me feel all the butterflies inside my stomach, like I was falling in love with all the words I was writing for the very first time of my life. Since then, I knew to myself that writing stories is the passion I would like to pursue.
I started writing on Wattpad back in 2010. I used to write fan fictions as I was addicted with popular boy bands in England, and K-pop Idols that I wrote some love stories and used their names as my protagonists. Whenever I had the time, I’ve seen myself writing… typing using my old computer and smiling inwardly because I love what I was doing.
I started with one story… and then little by little, I was able to create other stories on my Wattpad account. I gained so many readers who supported me and my works, and I didn’t expect that my first story on the said platform garnered 16 million reads over the years.
It was really a rollercoaster journey. As a writer, I invested a lot of emotion to my works and was able to connect with different people. I wrote so many novels on the free reading platform as I wanted to share my thoughts to my followers… to my readers who’ve supported me since 2010 to 2020.
And then an opportunity knocks to my door. Last year, I was contacted by one of the editors of a novel app called GoodNovel, inviting me to write on their platform and get paid from writing.
